Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving started off with our ward turkey bowl. Micah and I watched while Nate's team got beat. Micah is showing off his Thanksgiving shirt that I bought for him last year on clearance. I thought he would be a little bigger at this point in his life so I got him a 12 mo size. Little did I know that he would barely be out of his 3-6 mo clothes.
It was a beautiful morning, not a cloud in the sky. We ate dinner at Nate's cousin's house. It was great. I've never had such good sweet potatoes in my life.

On Saturday we went shooting with friends of ours. Here is Micah loving on his cracker while wearing his ear plugs. We had a great weekend playing games with friends and really enjoying having Nate home.

Micah has a few more tricks. He is pulling himself up on everything and continually pulling the DVDS off the shelf. He can also walk along the furniture.

Birthday 2009

I have to say that turning 27 was AWESOME. I also have to say that this was probably one of my best birthdays ever.

Amanda planned this crazy fun party for the New Moon release. New Moon just happened to come out at 12:01 on the 20th, so I got to celebrate my birthday in style. She had great decorations, movie themed food, and fun games. We even got t-shirts made by Kiana.

Amanda the great party planner and Me waiting for the movie to start.
Here we are showing off our black nails.

Kim and me waiting for our team's turn during our New Moon Cranium game. My team won, thanks to the score keeper turning her back and leaving the marker in plain view.

Nathan surprised me with this great birthday cake. It was fun and good. My kind of cake!
Everyone really made me feel extra special that day, even my brothers and sisters remembered, and my students were less annoying.
The only problem with having a great b-day is how can I top this next year??

9 Months Old

His stats are
Weight 13 lbs 12 oz
Height 25 in
He is still just a little guy. What he lacks in size he more than makes up for in fun. A few things that Micah does now is he is crawling. He can't get his belly off the ground, but I think it still counts.
video

His favorite place to go is into the bathroom. I have found him in there chewing on the toilet brush. Whoopsie! (it is now in the cupboard with all of my cleaners)

That is our bathroom door. He knew right were he wanted to go.

He has also discovered the door stop and about every other thing in our apartment. He is a genius at weaseling his way into a tight space and finding things to chew on, usually a power chord. He is not good and reversing his way out of a tight spot though.
I also just discovered that he can stand up in his crib. This means that tomorrow I will be moving his mattress down. This is how I used to find him.
This his how I find him now.

Micah also has 4 teeth, two bottom and two top. He will bite everything. He will splash in the tub, which makes bath time more fun now too. He recently started smacking his lips and twirling his ahand and feet when he is eating. He likes to look at himself in the mirror.

We went to the Endocrinologist this week and he wants up to do a MRI to make sure that there are no structural problems. When we get the MRI back then they will know what step to take. The MRI will be taken sometime next week at Phoenix Childrens Hospital. It has to be done there because last time Micah got sedated he stopped breathing, so they want to take all the precautions that they can.
On a happier note. Nate gets home next week from his away rotations and I started coaching soccer.

New Orleans

Micah and I went to visit Nate in New Orleans. Nate had a AOA convention, so I got off of work and we crashed the party. On Friday we took the street car out to the garden district. Basically all you see are houses with intricate iron railings.

Here we are on the Riverwalk.
Jackson Square in the french quarter.

Nate and I came to the realization that all you do when you go on vacation is walk around. We realized that this trip was no different than our trip to DC, Boston, and Chicago. I guess that is how life is. We were once again reminded why people leave their kids at home when they go on vacation. Even though Micah did really well at night and on the plane, there were things we couldn't go do. Next time we go, we are going to do a swamp tour, ride an air boat and see alligators.

Micah's New Tricks

Amanda and I went to see the Broadway play "Legally Blonde". We had a great time, but we both felt that they sang a lot of songs about nothing. Anyway, the Bakers watched Micah and when I came to pick him up they had a bunch of pictures of all of his new tricks. I mist be stifling his creativity, since I've never seen them before.
He can play the piano. He is already better than me. His favorite songs to play are by Rachmaninoff. He does have a hard time hitting all the notes in his left hand, but I keep telling him that will come with time and growth.
He likes to call all of his "girlfriends". He can talk talk talk. Usually it sounds like, "blaa blaa blaa." Sometimes, "daa daa daa" or "maa maa maa."
Here he is reading a magazine. He loves to read and look at pictures. He usually ends up putting them in his mouth, but at least he is reading.
Micah can already spell his names (with a little help). He insists on making the "c" backwards. He knows this is wrong but explains that it adds character to his name.
He has to check his facebook and twitter. I wont let him have a cell phone yet, so this is another way to keep in touch with all his peeps. (only the babes get phone calls)
This i what he would look like if he had hair. Luckily he is still bald.
After a hard day, Micah likes to sit with a cold drink, his favorite snacks, and watch some tv.
He is getting smarter everyday. He sits really well and is starting to crawl. He still isn't getting bigger. We have started the process of figuring out why. Hopefully we can find an answer soon.
