Micah in May

Micah is growing up. He has several new tricks. He smiles and giggles. He will also talk. He has started sucking on his hands, which results in a lot of drooling. He has discovered toys and soft fabrics.
We took Micah to his first baseball game. He had a lot of fun. To bad the diamondbacks are really struggling this year.
The next photos of Micah in his first time out. He gets sick when he eats formula. we have tried a couple of different types. I'm going to ask the pediatrician this week for some samples of soy milk formula and hopefully it will help. But we tried a new type of formula on Sunday. From past experience Micah will puke about 45 min after eating. Nate and I decide to put him in the bumbo and on the linoleum so when if he erupts it will be easier to clean up.
It was a good idea in theory, but he got tired and we had to put him down for a nap. He didn't puke until I was holding him, after his nap, on the couch. Needless to say Micah got a bath and I got a shower.

There was a young lady who swallowed a roach.
What a strange approach to swallow a roach.
She swallowed the roach to catch the fly.
I don't know why she swallowed the fly.
Perhaps she'll die!

This is the song I think of every night I go to bed.

The Saga Continues

Remember how I didn't get good sleep Thursday night? And you all know what happened Friday night. So I was ready to go to bed on Saturday night at like 6:00. We got the tire changed and the spare put on. Nate had to break the hub cap to fit it around the giant screw that was stripped. Our "reliable car" is once again our reliable car. We just added more coolant and now it is running fabulously again.
I went to sleep around 10:00. Woke up a couple of times for Micah and then at 4:45 is was almost asleep again, when something tickled my face. I kind of swatted at it but didn't really wake up. A few seconds later, the tickle was on my arm this time i swatted it and the bug flew onto my night stand. It quickly crawled into the space between my bed, night stand and the wall. I was way grossed out. I get my flashlight and shine down the hole. (remind you that I can't really see anything because I don't have my contacts in). A minute later the bug crawls back up the wall and onto the bed. I flip. I wake Nate up and turn on the light. There is a NASTY COCKROACH ON OUR BED. It was crawling on me while I slept.
Nate got his shoes and smashed it. We changed the sheets, because now there was bug guts on the bed, and Nate went right back to sleep. Obviously this wasn't a traumatic experience for him. I'm still way grossed out. I lie awake for another 2 hours jumping at any little thing. When 8:00 rolled around and it was time to go to church, I was so tired I almost wanted to cry. But I girded my loins and made it to church almost on time.
Thankfully I slept great last night and hopefully my night time adventures are over for now.

A Long 24hrs

This post is purely to complain. After a long week of teaching and a few longs nights with Micah, I was so excited to get home on Friday and just relax.
-Fortunately, i was able to leave school relatively early since I didn't have any work, Unfortunately, I walked out to my car to find the back left tire completely flat.
-Fortunately, Nate will change the tire for me. Unfortunately, he is still at work.
-Fortunately, I was able to bum a ride to the babysitters with one of the teachers who was still at school. Unfortunately, I had to leave the Caddy at Mountain Ridge.
-Fortunately, Jodi (Micah's day-time mama) was able to bring us home. Unfortunately, our house is so hot I was still sweating when I got inside.
-Fortunately, Nate called to say that he was on his way home. Unfortunately, he locked the keys in his car.
-Fortunately, I have another set. Unfortunately I am stuck at home with no car.
-Fortunately, a policeman will let him in. Unfortunately, he left several scratches on our car.
-Fortunately, Nate made it home. Unfortunately, the "relieable car" overheated on Nate's drive home.
-Fortunately, when Nate left,to fix the Caddy, Micah went to sleep and I was able to nap. Unfortunately, Nate couldn't get the hubcap off because of a stripped screw.
-Fortunately, He didn't die of heat exhaustion. Unfortunately, he couldn't get the tire fixed.
-Fortunately, we were able to go to bed early. Unfortunately, because of "nursing" pains I couldn't go to sleep.
-Fortunately, I had a book of keep me occupied while I my wounds healed. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go to bed until 1:30.
-Fortunately, I fell asleep quickly. Unfortunately, I had to get up at 3:00 to pump my milk since Micah gets sick on formula.
-Fortunately, I can go back to sleep at 3:10. Unfortunately, Micah wakes up at 4:00 to eat.
-Fortunately, he goes back to sleep quickly. Unfortunately, at 4:45 there is a knock at the door and we have to get up.
-Fortunately, nothing is wrong, but the police are there asking about our Caddy. The classic "sorry to bother you sir, but do you own an '89 Cadillac". Unfortunately, the school (Mountain Ridge) was broken into and the police were checking on the suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. -Fortunately, we get to go to bed again and the car is fine. Unfortunately, Micah wakes up again at 5:30, aparently he wants to eat again.
-Fortunately, he will sleep in (at least i think). Unfortunately, he is awake at 7:00.
-Fortunately, he is happy and wants to play. Unfortunately, I can't go back to sleep.
That is my searies of unfortunate events. I think I got a total of 4 hours of sleep last night and our car is still not fixed. I am just counting down the minutes until Micah naps and I can go to sleep. Hopefully the weekend picks up, because I can't handle another 24 hours like I just had.
