Olin was competing in two events, Steer Wrestling and and Tie Down Roping. He did really good in Steer Wrestling, which is were he jumps off his horse onto a steer and then has to flip it on his side.
Even though rodeos are three or four day events, they have the same competition each of the nights with different cowboys. This way they can compete in three different rodeos in a weekend.
These people are in a competition for making horseshoes. Each team starts with two straight rods of iron and have to make two horseshoes in one hour. It was wild to watch.
Nate and I competed in our own rodeo, and did a little bull ridding. It was our first time and I think we did pretty good considering.
When we weren't at the rodeo.....
On the drive up to flagstaff we stopped at Montezuma's Castle. It was built by the Sinagua Indians about 700 years ago. It was pretty impressive.
