Boards Are Done

So we finally have the boards behind us. Nate finished on Thursday this last week and we took off of the weekend. We went up to Flagstaff for the Coconino County Rodeo, my cousins husband is a rodeo cowboy and was competing.

Olin was competing in two events, Steer Wrestling and and Tie Down Roping. He did really good in Steer Wrestling, which is were he jumps off his horse onto a steer and then has to flip it on his side.

Even though rodeos are three or four day events, they have the same competition each of the nights with different cowboys. This way they can compete in three different rodeos in a weekend.

These people are in a competition for making horseshoes. Each team starts with two straight rods of iron and have to make two horseshoes in one hour. It was wild to watch.

Nate and I competed in our own rodeo, and did a little bull ridding. It was our first time and I think we did pretty good considering.

On the drive up to flagstaff we stopped at Montezuma's Castle. It was built by the Sinagua Indians about 700 years ago. It was pretty impressive.

FREE FOR THE SUMMER!!!

The best part of teaching is our three month break.

During my last week of school David came into town for a friends wedding. Dave, Kip, Nate and I went to a D-backs game. It was great, the D-backs won and then we enjoyed a fireworks show. We also spent the afternoon with Dave's friends. It was funny to hear all of their stories about finishing medical school. Good luck to you all!!!

I started my summer vacation by visiting my family in Utah. Nathan couldn't go because he was studying for the boards.

I spent Memorial Day with my family at our cabin up Spanish Fork Canyon. We had a great time sitting by the camp fire and playing card games. We were definitely surprised when it snowed on us on Monday.

This a photo taken from the deck at the cabin of my silly family and their fire in the snow. They kept saying it was like being at scout camp. I never really found out if that was a good or bad thing. Needless to say the fire didn't last long.

My cousin Natalie got married on Tuesday in Manti. It was a great ceremony. I don't think Natalie or Olin heard a word that was said, but that's okay. That's why you go to many many more and then maybe the words will sink in. I love going to weddings. The bride and groom, can't wipe the silly grin off their faces. They were soo happy. I'm glad I was able to go and share that day with them. They had a nice luncheon and then were whisked away on their honeymoon.

The rest of the week was spent at my house hanging out with my mom and sisters. We did tie my quilt finally. I think there were only a few bad words said. Good thing Emily was there to diffuse any tense situations. Thanks mom and Em for your hard work.
