Fire Station Tour

Micah was invited to a birthday party at the local Firestation. The nice firemen showed the kids all the neat buttons on the truck. They fireman was so kind and patient. He asked great questions for the kids to anwser. They turned on the siren and lights on the truck, the alarm in the firestation. They showed the kids all th gear they wear. Micah LOVED it. They even got to spray one of the water tanks. Micah still calls the lights "fireworks".

Beau is 9 Months Old!

Beau is 9 months old already. I can't believe it. He is
18.8 lbs (40%)
28.75 in (70%)
Like most babies Beau loves to look at himself.

He has a few new tricks including clapping, and crawling. He even gets his tummy of the floor. He also has learned to pull himself up standing, but has yet to crawl up the stairs.

This boy can also eat like the best of them. He double fists his food. Whenever he hears the fridge door open, the rustling of a bag, opening of the cupboards, or the scrape of the kitchen chair is is in the room and begging for food.

He still only cries when he is dirty, hungry, or tired, or i guess when Micah sits on him. Micah is a pretty good brother to him. But now that Beau moves he can steal Micah's toys. I usually hear, "NO, Beau Beau. STOP." Then a thud and Beau crying. I know that someday they'll play well together, but I wish that day was today.

Summer Fun

July and August brought lots of fun in the sun.
1. We went out on a friend's boat. Nate and I wake boarded (Nate still thinks he is hot stuff on the water) and Beau and Micah swam.

2. Micah took swim lessons. He did a good job of puting his head under the water to get the diving toy. He loves to jump off the sides of the pool and even jumped off the diving board.

Beau had to watch from the sidelines this year, maybe next year i'll put him in lessons. We spent a lot of time at the free pool. We usually would swim for an hour or so, eat a picnic, and then stay for lessons. It was a pretty sweat gig.

3. We spent more time at the Clay Center.
4. Swam at our friend's pool. Micah loved to play with the ping-pong balls. Beau loved floating around in his starfish tube.

5. Great-grandma came to visit. Micah has french fries in one hand and an ice cream sundae just waiting to be eaten.

Nate and the boys also went to Columbus to visit Kelly's family. They were only there for a day, but they packed in 3 days of activities.

6. Micah got to light off his first firework. Sure it was just a sparkler, but he loved it. For the last month everytime he sees flashing lights he says, "fireworks, mama."
